The Greenbelt Foundation wanted to increase local food served and consumed in Toronto high schools.


I interviewed 40 stakeholders, including global and regional organizations, farmers, manufacturers, distributors, nutritionists, buyers, cafeteria workers, school administrators and students to reveal a disparate understanding of ‘local’, a decentralized network, huge economical pressure, uninformed and disenfranchised youth. By synthesizing expert interviews with supply chain analysis, I developed strategic recommendations to get students excited enough to demand they have a right to eat healthy, nutritious, local food at school.
